Reading, UK, 27th March 2008: Kyocera is delighted to announce that Doug Sneddon, Service Engineer at Alto Digital is the winner of the second annual UK Kyocera Service Trophy competition. Doug triumphed over an extremely competitive field to prove that his knowledge of Kyocera Corporation and its products and services is truly the best in the country.

Doug reached the final of the competition after scoring the highest amount of points amongst a number of entrants to Kyocera’s online technical questionnaire, in which all engineers from Kyocera’s servicing dealers across the country were invited to take part.

Doug was then invited to the European Final at Kyocera Europe’s headquarters in Meerbusch to compete against other EMEA regions the final rounds. During the event, the engineers were tested on their knowledge of Kyocera hardware and faced a number of practical and theoretical tests. Doug came an impressive third, and now is set to spend a week in Japan touring Kyocera’s global office.

Doug commented: “It was a really good experience for me, the standard of the other competitors was quite high and I was so pleased to place 3rd in the European heats. As prize I now get to go to Japan for a week and have a tour of the KM headquarters and meet the President of Kyocera. It was a well run and organized competition and I look forward to competing next year.

Commenting on the event, Kyocera’s Service Director Martin Tierney said: “This competition demonstrates the high levels of expertise that our servicing dealer engineers have. We were delighted with the high standards and commitment to Kyocera shown by all the entrants in the competition. We’re pleased to congratulate Doug and Alto Digital on the win.”
