KLM Digital Engineer wins Kyocera Service Trophy

18 December 2008 - Engineer proves he’s the UK’s best.

Phill Myatt (KLM Digital) receives the Service Trophy from Martin Tierney (Kyocera)

Kyocera is delighted to announce that Phil Myatt, Senior Engineer at KLM Digital has won the UK Kyocera Service Trophy competition for the second time in three years. Phil triumphed over an extremely competitive and knowledgeable field to prove that his knowledge of Kyocera’s products and services is truly the best in the Country.

Phil reached the final of the competition after scoring among the top five entrants to Kyocera’s online technical questionnaire, in which all engineers from Kyocera’s servicing dealers across the United Kingdom were invited to take part.

The top five engineers were then invited to Kyocera’s head office in Reading to complete the final rounds. During the event, the engineers were tested on their knowledge of Kyocera hardware, software and applications, fault finding and tested in a quick fire buzzer round.

Commenting on the event, Kyocera’s Service Director Martin Tierney said: “This was a great opportunity for us to recognise the high levels of expertise that our servicing dealer engineers have. We were pleased with the response to the competition and the exceptional standard of knowledge throughout the day. We’re delighted to congratulate Phil and KLM Digital on their win.”

Phil Myatt commented: “I’m over the moon with the result today, up against some very tough competition. It’s a great achievement for anyone to be in the finals of this competition, so to win is a real honour. I’m now looking forward to the European round and hope to do as well as Doug did last year. Having two engineers in the Kyocera Service Trophy UK Finals goes to show that KLM Digital is delivering the very best possible service to our clients”.

Last year’s winner, Doug Sneddon of Altodigital came second and John Lynch of A Kellys came third in the annual competition.

Phil now goes forward to the European final in Meerbusch on 13 March, where he’ll compete for the grand prize of 1 week all-inclusive trip to Kyocera HQ in Japan.
