Research carried out this year by Kyocera showed that uncertainty over energy prices in both domestic and commercial markets is likely to be one of the key influencers on businesses efforts to reduce their environmental impacts. It’s a topic that concerns us all for financial and environmental reasons and the likely shape of the future energy markets will be the topic for Kyocera’s eleventh Green Card event.
Attendees will hear from representatives of the nuclear and renewable energy industries, alongside academic comment and practical strategies for incentivising employees to reduce energy consumption, plus case studies from the public and education sectors. The free, full day event takes place at the Reading Museum on 25th November 2008.
Held in conjunction with Connect Reading and the Thames Valley iFestival, the conference will look to build on the success of May’s event at the Birmingham NEC which attracted over 90 delegates.
Speakers include Tristram Denton of the Nuclear Industry Association, who will talk about the place of nuclear in a low-carbon energy policy and Emma Bollan, of WSP Group who will speak about engaging people in the Carbon debate.
Daniel Curtis of Oxford University will talk about implementing Power Management at Oxford University, whilst Neeta Dalal of Semplice Energy will speak on ‘Clean Technologies and the Benefits of a Hybridised Energy Solution’
Delegates will also have the opportunity to hear from Joe Baker of Barking & Dagenham Council who will give an insight into how the council has worked to reduce the carbon footprint of its residents. John Gilbert of Thames Water will also talk about alternative forms of energy.
