Kyocera builds on green foundations at annual conference

Document imaging company invites delegates to take steps to ensure of a greener future


17 March 2008 - 17 March 2008: Kyocera, the pioneering document imaging company, will welcome a host of distinguished speakers from the business world when it holds its 5th Annual Green Card conference at the Birmingham NEC on 21st May 2008.

Held in conjunction with Sustainability Live!, the conference will look to build on the success of last year’s event which attracted over 90 delegates.

Delegates from UK business and public sector organisations will hear from speakers from charitable, utilities, environmental and corporate sectors, as well as representatives from central and local government.

Speakers will outline an array of case studies looking at how UK legislation affects our workplace, whilst there will also be opportunities to hear views and ideas on eco-initiatives.

Michael Barclay, Environmental Manager at the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) will talk about the Climate Savers Initiative, a network for leading corporations who are prepared to make innovative commitments to reduce harmful emissions.

Victoria Barber, IT Asset Manager of Centrica will give an IT update on what the company has been doing to improve its environmental performance.

David Scott of Entec will give tips on how to reduce energy consumption in the office, whilst Paul Baglin of Barclays Capital will talk about their environmental initiatives

During the afternoon delegates will have the opportunity to hear from Adrian Harding of the Environment Agency who will give an update on the WEEE Directive and Sandy Taylor of Birmingham City Council on how the city is set to become greener in the future.
