Kyocera launches upgradeable A3 copiers

02 January 2008 - Kyocera has launched two new A3 monochrome copiers for departmental and small- to medium-sized workgroup environments. The KM-2540 and KM-3040 are ideal for users whose main requirement is highly reliable copying, such as schools, libraries and public authorities. The basic copying functionality can be upgraded to include print and fax capability should the user’s needs change.

The KM-2540 and KM-3040 are designed for easy and intuitive use. They include large monochrome touch panels with minimal key presses for basic functions, simplifying the operation of the device. In addition, the touch panel can be adjusted to pre-set angles for user comfort. The copiers benefit from compact design and enhanced user accessibility. For example, the paper cassettes feature easy-to-pull grips, ensuring all users can open them effortlessly, while the document feeder is configured to remain open at a low angle, meaning that wheelchair users don’t need to open it fully to access the flatbed scanner.

Rachel Dean, Product Manager at Kyocera, comments: “These upgradeable single function copiers have been specifically designed with usability in mind. Their intuitive operation and clear display panels make them ideal for general use in office departments and public areas. Their fast warm up times make them ideal “walk up” machines as the user doesn’t have to wait a long time for the machine to be ready. The KM-2540 and KM-3040 both benefit from Kyocera’s unique long life drum technology, which makes them robust and reliable and reduces the amount of routine servicing they require.”

The KM-2540 and KM-3040 operate at 25 and 30 copies per minute respectively. They also have remarkably fast warm-up times: just 15 seconds from sleep mode and 10 seconds from low power mode. Staple finishers and job separators are available, ensuring that the KM-2540 and KM-3040 can manage more complex copy jobs, and the addition of print and fax functionality as needs dictate guarantee that the KM-2540 and KM3040 can support growing businesses.

The KM-2540 is priced at £3,810 ex VAT and the KM-3040 is priced at £4,662 ex VAT and they are available from Kyocera servicing dealers now.
