Kyocera's latest Environmental Survey Results

25 July 2008 - Take part in our environmental survey

How ‘green’ is YOUR office?

We want to find out what YOU think about your workplace’s environmental policies – do you have procedures in place or do you feel like you should be playing more of a part?

Kyocera recently carried out a survey on the influence of the environment amongst staff in UK businesses. Results showed that while 77% of employees feel personally concerned about environmental issues, they don’t take this level of concern with them into the workplace.

Key findings of the research showed that for environmental policies to be effective in the workplace, they need to be implemented and enforced from a senior level and have a 'top down' approach.

Businesses continue to take a ‘light green’ approach to environmental issues and the survey also showed that the current credit crunch coupled with soaring energy prices, is in fact forcing businesses to make cutbacks which could, in the long term, help reduce their impact on the environment.

Kyocera is now inviting Green Card members to take part in the survey and the results will be published on the Green Card website (www.thegreencard.org.uk) in due course. We plan to compare the results of the general survey to those from Green Card members and to publish our findings later this year, comparing the Green Card members’ results (anonymously, of course) with those of corporate UK as a whole.
