Have your say on Renewable Energy

25 July 2008 - Share your views on the current energy debate

In the run up to the next Kyocera Green Card Conference, which will concentrate on the shape of future energy markets, we would like members to share their views on the current energy debate.
BERR has recently released the UK Renewable Energy Strategy and this is currently open for consultation.

The consultation seeks views on how to drive up the use of renewable energy in the UK, as part of our overall strategy for tackling climate change and to meet our share of the EU target to source 20% of the EU's energy from renewable sources by 2020.

It looks at ways that the UK can meet its proposed share of the EU 2020 target for renewable energy in the most cost-effective way. It asks for your views on possible measures and potential technologies that could help the UK accomplish a revolution in how we use and generate energy.
Responses to this consultation will help shape the UK Renewable Energy Strategy which will be published in Spring 2009, once the UK's share of the target has been agreed.

The consultation closes on 26th September and we encourage Green Card members to have their say and share their views. The consultation document can be found at: http://renewableconsultation.berr.gov.uk/
