Kyocera speak at Government IT Goes Green

24 September 2008 - Kyocera's seminar proves a success

Kyocera's seminar on The Sustainable Workplace proved to be standing room only at the Government IT Goes Green event last week.

Marketing Director, Tracey Rawling Church gave a fascinating presentation on "greening" the office and getting users to alter working habits and make the most of the resource-saving features available.

The event pulled together the key areas of transformational government and sustainable IT management, and focused on critical issues including energy efficiency, the increased uptake of mobile working, best value and sustainable procurement practice and the recycling and re-use of electrical equipment.

Delegates also heard from Malcolm Wicks, Energy Minister, BERR, who spoke about Sustainability and the WEEE Directive and how it’s being dealt with by Local Authorities. There was also a headlining speech from Tom Watson MP, who will took a direct and no-nonsense approach to the responsibilities we all need to face up to in our attitudes to green IT.
