Kyocera combat non-genuine consumables with new programme

27 July 2009 - Direct Partner Programme launched

Kyocera is proud to announce the launch of a new scheme that will combat the sales of non-genuine toner in the channel.

Kyocera has created a Consumables Direct Partner Programme with the main aim to reward Kyocera’s direct partners who distribute ‘Genuine Quality toner’ manufactured by Kyocera and ensure that end-users are using genuine Kyocera consumables, and therefore, not compromising the quality of their Kyocera product.

The programme aims to add value and reward Direct Partners that choose to work with Kyocera, and enforce this non-genuine message. In return Kyocera promote their authorized Direct Partners through various marketing initiatives which include:

• Sales and Marketing support
• Sales Management
• Increased retention and improved customer relationships
• New promotions specific for direct partners
• Generation of sales leads

So far VOW, UFP, Westcoast, Advent, Midwich and Spicers have all been brought on board.

A Consumables Business Partner Programme has also been set up for select resellers which will recognize business partners for supplying genuine Kyocera consumables to end-markets, as they will be solely purchasing from authorized direct distribution partners.

The launch of both new Consumables programmes has allowed Kyocera to re-visit their consumables training and sales education; with regard to why Kyocera technology is fundamentally different to that of their competitors.

Charlotte Elmer, Kyocera’s Consumables and Spares Manager said: “We believe by implementing these programmes, Kyocera are tackling the issue of non-original toner successfully. We have a strong process in place to deal with non-genuine product and the companies associated with this trading. We hope by getting partners on board, we can continue to sell genuine toner and see a growth in our consumables business in the forthcoming quarter.”
