Kyocera delivers optimised document output and security for all network environments

09 December 2009

Kyocera today launches two new monochrome A3 multifunctional devices, the TASKalfa 420i and 520I. Optimised to provide flexibility for superior performance, these devices also meet the growing demand for excellent network integration and security.

Flexibility is a recurring requirement of businesses when it comes to handling office documents. The TASKalfa 420i and 520i monochrome multifunction devices are designed to meet this demand. Printing at up to 42 and 52 A4 pages per minute respectively the TASKalfa 420i and 520i both feature an easy-to-read, wide, full-colour touch panel with a highly intuitive command structure.

Users benefit from quick and easy access to all functions, whether these devices are being used as a copier, network printer, full-colour scanner or, optionally, as a fax system. Together with the exceptional reliability and minimal down times delivered by Kyocera’s long-life components, these flexible devices are a highly productive addition to any office or work group.

In addition, the new devices also incorporate HyPAS™, Kyocera’s new open software development platform. Combining Java based applications with open web service technology, the TASKalfa 420i and 520i work efficiently both with applications embedded within the device as well as with applications based on an external web-server.

This hybrid platform makes it much easier to integrate the devices into a company’s workflow by simplifying the customisation of the device panel and making these devices a part of automated, company-specific processes. From security protocols and document routing, to accounting processes and other document management options, all functions (print, copy, scan or fax) can be tailored to support a company’s individual requirements.

Rachel Dean, Product Manager at Kyocera comments: “These devices are designed to integrate seamlessly into the office environment, working with bespoke company processes and protocols. Their high functionality and ease-of-use means they enhance office productivity from the point of installation, while their long-life components guarantee reliability.”

Professional network devices
The TASKalfa 420i and 520i are highly reliable network devices. To safeguard against potential security risks, these models are equipped with IPsec, IPv6 and PDF encryption as standard. For even greater security, Kyocera offers further security options such as the Data Security Kit, which effectively deletes all data stored to the hard disk during the print, copy or scanning process. Data security never compromises the efficiency of these devices. With a printing speed of up to 52 ppm A4 and a high-speed, one-path duplex document processor that scans up to 60 ipm in colour at 300 dpi, these office devices are also highly productive.

Flexible paper handling
Available with a wide range of paper handling options these multifunctional devices are flexible from start to finish. Additional paper cassettes can increase the paper supply to up to 4,200 sheets. Different finishers let users punch, staple, fold, make booklets or quickly and efficiently organise printouts by using the mailbox sorter.

The new TASKalfa 420i and 520i are available from authorised Kyocera partners now.
