Kyocera Mita Scoops Platinum Awards in BERTL’s Annual Reader Survey

Kyocera rated top for mono reliability, mono product range and running costs

01 October 2006 - More than 3,000 resellers and end-users from 56 countries have rated Kyocera top for monochrome reliability, monochrome range and running costs in the annual BERTL reader survey.

Market analyst BERTL asked corporate executives, IT personnel, end-users and buyers to identify the manufacturer they consider to be the most outstanding in the digital imaging marketplace. As a result Kyocera Mita achieved three BERTL Readers’ Choice Platinum Awards.

Running Costs
With hardware running costs determined by a complex mix of factors, BERTL polled end-users to learn how they viewed the overall running costs of Kyocera’s products. According to the survey respondents, while differences in purchase price may look significant on the day of purchase, this can fade into insignificance compared to the thousands or pounds that can be saved by using a more efficient and lower running cost device from Kyocera.

Mono Reliability and Product Range
BERTL interviewed resellers to learn how they viewed each manufacturer’s overall ability to deliver monochrome reliability and a complete monochrome product range in both their eyes and those of their customer base. Kyocera was rated highest because of its balanced portfolio that exactly meets the needs of the market.

Head of testing and evaluations at BERTL Dave Sweetnam, VP of Research, comments on the importance of offering a comprehensive product range: “The high street office equipment reseller selling to small-to-medium-sized companies is going to be looking for a strong workgroup family of products, offering the best value for money in a small format, while the reseller aiming at the larger enterprise / government departments will be looking for the more diverse portfolio that allows them to offer solutions spanning not just the front office workgroup, but also shared departmental resources and the central reprographic department.” Kyocera’s mono product range topped the poll for all these criteria, resulting in a total of three Platinum awards.

Tracey Rawling Church, Head of Marketing at Kyocera Mita UK comments: “BERTL is a highly respected organisation with a readership from across our customer spectrum, therefore we are delighted that our products have been so warmly endorsed. Low Running costs and high reliability have been at the heart of Kyocera’s offering for many years, and it’s great to know that we are still leading the field as far as customers are concerned.”
