The successful evaluation will be welcomed by Kyocera’s existing and future NHS customers as it will enable them to roll out Cerner’s state of the art healthcare information systems while also benefiting from the low running costs, reliability and environmental responsibility of Kyocera’s printers and MFPs. The rigorous evaluation process saw the TCL testing not only Kyocera’s compatibility with its own software platform, but also the validity of Kyocera’s claims for reliability, ease of installation and ease of use. Kyocera Public Sector Account Manager Audrey Robinson comments: “We are delighted that Cerner has approved our products for use with its software. It’s an important endorsement of their functionality and will facilitate our customers’ smooth deployment of Cerner software.” Having completed the certification process at the Cerner TCL, Kyocera’s KM-C3232, KM-C5030N, FS-4000DN, FS-3900DN, FS-2000DN and FS-1030DN are now fully authorised for use with Cerner. This will be particularly important for NHS trusts in the Southern Cluster region which have recently standardised on Cerner Millennium software as a result of contracts concluded with local service provider Fujitsu. As a result all IT peripheral providers must now ensure that their products are certified by Cerner before they can be considered for use in the NHS Southern Cluster. This also applies to the London Cluster which has recently adopted Cerner software. Kyocera has a strong heritage of working with NHS clients, who choose its products because of their award-winning reliability and cartridge-free technology, which dramatically lowers the cost of printing. Kyocera products are approved for compatibility with major clinical applications such as EMIS, iSoft and InPractice Vision. Audrey Robinson comments: “Kyocera is committed to delivering the highest levels of support for its NHS customers, and considers the smooth integration of its products with NHS applications to be the highest priority. Our Cerner certification will benefit our existing customers and will encourage NHS Trusts that are standardising on Cerner to consider the significant benefits that Kyocera can offer.”
