Superior knowledge of Kyocera products secures the win
07 March 2007
Kyocera is delighted to announce that Phil Myatt, Senior Engineer at KLM Digital, was the winner of the first Kyocera Service Trophy competition.
Phil triumphed over an extremely competitive field to prove that his knowledge of Kyocera Corporation and its products and services is truly the best in the country. Phil reached the final of the competition after scoring among the top nine entrants to Kyocera’s online technical questionnaire, in which all engineers from Kyocera’s servicing dealers across the country were invited to take part. These nine were then invited to the Grand Final to complete the final rounds. During the event, the engineers were tested on their knowledge of Kyocera hardware, software and applications, specifications and configurations, and mechanical and electrical regulations. They also had to complete practical challenges to build a working Kyo-buggy, and re-assemble a fuser unit from a bag of parts. Yak Menicou, Managing Director at KLM Digital, commented: “KLM Digital is committed to ensuring that its service engineers are highly knowledgeable, fast and effective. By winning this trophy Phil has demonstrated that he excels in all these areas.” Commenting on the event, Kyocera’s Technical Service Manager Dave Hill said: “This was a great opportunity for us to recognise the high levels of expertise that our servicing dealer engineers have. We were delighted the high standards demonstrated by all the entrants in the competition. It really showed the commitment that the service engineers have to maintaining the highest possible knowledge levels in their daily work. We’re pleased to congratulate Phil and KLM Digital on the win – he is a great ambassador for both KLM Digital and Kyocera.” Phil Myatt commented: “I was delighted to win the trophy. The standard of competition was extremely high so it was very gratifying to win. The event was entertaining as well as challenging, and I look forward to defending my title next year!”
