KYOCERA MITA’s GREEN PARTNER PROGRAMME GATHERS MOMENTUM

BT Engage IT, Computacenter and Annodata achieve green accreditation

Reading, UK, February 2012: Kyocera Mita (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce that three more of its channel partners have achieved Green Partner Plus accreditation. BT Engage IT, Computacenter and Annodata have all achieved the required standard of environmental performance through their commitment to operating in an environmentally responsible way and continuously improving their sustainability performance.

Tracey Rawling Church, Director of Brand and Reputation at Kyocera Mita comments: “Our green partner programme is a key part of our commitment to mitigating the impact of our business on the environment. These three partners have shown that they share our vision by applying for, and achieving the Green Partner Plus rating. The programme is gathering momentum and we look forward to certifying more of our channel partners in the near future.”
Andrew Harman, Joint Managing Director at Annodata comments: “We have been working with Kyocera Mita for many years, and we always promote the low waste, low cost aspects of their ECOSYS devices. Qualifying for the Green Partner programme means that we can show that we don’t just provide our customers with low impact technology, we also operate our business in a more sustainable way.”

Rory Kilpatrick, solutions specialist sales director at BT Engage IT said: “Sustainability principles like energy efficiency and minimal waste are important to keep our customers’ costs low and operations ‘greener’. They are important elements of our managed print and wider information technology products. Achieving Green Partner Plus accreditation shows our customers that we are serious about protecting the environment and understand how sustainability can improve their businesses.”

The Green Partner Programme is an important element of Kyocera Mita’s commitment to greening its entire supply chain, both upstream and downstream. To achieve Green Partner status, channel partners have to demonstrate that they have policies in place covering sustainable office working, sourcing and recycling. They also need to show that they inform customers about WEEE recycling and Kyocera’s toner returns service, as well as wider issues around the responsible use of office equipment. There are two levels of accreditation, Green Partner and Green Partner Plus. The scheme is intended to give customers confidence that when they choose a sustainable printing or copying solution based on Kyocera’s unique long-life, cartridge-free technology, they can also acquire it through a channel partner that operates to recognised environmental standards.
