KYOCERA Document Solutions UK’s Service Trophy 2014

As part of ongoing efforts to reward excellence in its partners, KYOCERA Document Solutions UK Ltd has awarded an all expenses paid trip to Germany and £500 worth of Amazon vouchers to the winner of its annual UK Service Trophy.

Richard Bethney of KLM Digital beat over 300 KYOCERA trained Service Engineers in the UK to take home this year’s award, after coming out on top of a series of tasks held at KYOCERA’s UK head office in Reading. Richard’s win marks the culmination of a three year quest for the Basingstoke based engineer, following his second placed finish in 2013 and a third placed finish the year before.

Richard will now travel to Germany on 9th & 10th October this year to compete against engineers from 11 European countries to win a place in the final of the Global competition in Spring 2015 in Japan. During this trip finalists are given VIP treatment and also spend time visiting a KYOCERA production facility.

Following an online quiz, KYOCERA invited the top 5 scoring entrants to the UK final where they were challenged to complete 3 tasks to decide who would represent the UK in the European final. These included a theory and product knowledge test, a practical fault finding test and, finally, a solutions and networking theory test.

James Crow from Concorde Corp in Exeter was awarded second place and Parminder Ryatt from London-based Karlson UK took third place.

Steve Trutch, Service Support Manager, KYOCERA Document Solutions UK Ltd, explains: “We want to congratulate Richard on taking the top spot after coming so close in the last two years. KLM is one of our best performing partners in these awards, with engineers regularly achieving top 3 finishes. In fact, Richard’s colleague Phil Myatt is a former winner of the UK competition and also participated in the European final.”
